Best Beginner Airsoft Sniper Rifles

Sniping is probably one of the best feelings in airsoft. There’s nothing quite like watching your BB sail through the air and contact the target. With the prestige of sniping being high, it’s understandable that you would want to take the plunge into being an airsoft sniper.

However, it’s not as easy as you may think.

Be warned

Airsoft sniping is a tricky business, where you spend more time tinkering, testing and practicing with the rifle than you do play with it in a game. So be warned, there’s very few “pick up and play” solutions to airsoft sniper rifles. The best rifles are generally the ones where there’s a wealth of replacement and upgrade parts available.

The Best Airsoft Sniper Rifles for Beginners:

1.Tokyo Marui VSR-10

TM-VSR10

The Tokyo Marui VSR-10 is the stable of airsoft sniping. It’s a rock steady platform for learning the art of sniping. It’s based on the design of the Remington 700 and is a timeless design that works with pretty much any loadout.

This rifle tops our list because of its heritage. The Tokyo Marui VSR-10 has been around since the early dawn of airsoft and as such, has a huge following for modification, spare parts and upgrades. There is not a single part on this rifle that you cannot find a replacement for or an upgrade for. It’s made by Tokyo Marui, the grandfathers of airsoft, and the external quality is hard to match, even by the clones available on the market.

However, since it’s from Tokyo Marui, a Japan based company, out of the box the VSR-10 shoots at a cool 280fps – much lower than you’d like for a sniper rifle (most sites allow up to 500fps in the UK). Whilst it still has phenomenal AEG-beating range out of the box (due to TM wizardry), most players will want to upgrade this almost immediately. It also, due to its design, has a lower mag capacity than many of the other airsoft sniper rifles on the market – topping out at 50rnds with the latest magazines available. New players who might not be as accurate as some veterans, may prefer a rifle with a greater magazine capacity.

2.Ares Amoeba Striker Sniper Rifle

ARES-AMOEBA-STRIKER

The Ares Amoeba Striker Sniper Rifle is a “relatively” new rifle when compared to the above VSR-10. Its modern design and high mag capacity compared to the VSR has made it a favourite amongst newer players.

Out of the box, the Ares Amoeba shoots at 380fps, still not as high as most UK site limits, but much higher than the TM VSR. This is a definite bonus for players not looking to make immediate modifications to their rifle.

The bonus of this rifle is that it also features a number of upgrades available on the market. It’s not quite as varied or comprehensive as the TM VSR, but the modification and upgrade community is definitely growing for these rifles. Since it’s a much new design, it has some nice little features that players will find welcome. For instance, it uses standard rifle springs, not proprietary VSR springs, it also has a system to adjust the trigger sensitivity and a system to visually show you that the weapon is cocked and ready to fire.

3.Well MB01 MK96

WELL-MB01

The consensus is that whilst WELL is not know for making the finest or highest quality products. The MB01 is just right in terms of bang for buck and available upgrades. These rifles are relatively cheap compared to the rest and features the L96 classic good looks. Whilst TM and other brands make L96 airsoft replicas it’s widely regarded that WELL have produced the best system for taking future upgrades and maintaining reliability.

The MB01 has the benefit of taking primarily AEG parts (which are available everywhere). It takes a standard AEG barrel and a standard AEG hop up and bucking. This gives you a huge range of options and combinations to try and to test your rifle with.

Once you’ve chosen your sniper rifle. You’re going to want to know how to be an effective sniper and how to look after your rifle.
